The Bendigo Community Farmers' Market started in April 2010, providing fresh, regional and seasonal produce to Bendigo. Shopping at the farmers market means you get high quality, freshly harvested produce, in season, in a traditional, market square atmosphere. It also means that you are directly supporting the farmers of the Bendigo region, and thus contributing to the local community. The Bendigo Community Farmers Market is run by a volunteer committee, along with a paid market manager and communications manager. The Bentleigh Farmers' Market is proudly managed by the East Bentleigh Primary School/Parent Committee. It was once a market garden site and the vision is for it to become a vibrant monthly family/community farm fresh produce market with 55-65 stallholders. The market is part of the school's philosophy of creating a nurturing environment for the students to learn and grow, which includes a guide to healthy eating and the importance of sustainable farming practises. Entry is by a $2 donation, with funds collected going towards the school garden program. To reduce plastic waste, visitors are encouraged to bring their own trolley, basket and bags.

The Healesville Organic Farmers market was established in 2004 to provide residents of the Yarra Valley with an opportunity to buy fresh organically grown produce direct from local farmers on a weekly basis.
